Conte on his debut match at Napoli: "A vivid picture of reality; we need to strengthen the squad"

Napoli's head coach Antonio Conte commented on the team's victory over Modena in the first round of the Coppa Italia (0-0, 4-3 on penalties).

«I was aware of the situation and that the club has certain limitations regarding transfers and salaries in the market. Moreover, many players are unwilling to join us because we are not competing in European tournaments.

I want what is best for Napoli, and we need to make an effort to strengthen the squad, as it is essential. Otherwise, I don’t know what will happen – today painted a vivid picture of reality», Conte's words were reported by journalist Gianluca Di Marzio on social media.

The match against Modena marked Napoli's first official outing under Antonio Conte's leadership. The 55-year-old took charge of the team in June, signing a contract that runs until the summer of 2027.

Last season, the Neapolitans reached the Round of 16 in the Coppa Italia, where they were defeated by Frosinone with a score of 0-4.
