Georgia’s national team goalkeeper Mamardashvili to continue career at Liverpool

Valencia and Georgia goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili is set to further his career at Liverpool.

According to insider Fabrizio Romano, the clubs are close to finalizing a deal for the 23-year-old shot-stopper. The parties are working to resolve the final details concerning the payment structure. Liverpool will pay €35 million for Mamardashvili, who will remain on loan at Valencia for the current season.

Earlier reports indicated that the Georgian goalkeeper has agreed to a contract with the Merseyside club lasting until the summer of 2030.

Mamardashvili has been with Valencia since 2021. Last season, he made 37 appearances for Los Che, keeping 13 clean sheets while conceding 41 goals. During the UEFA Euro 2024, the Georgia international replicated a record for the most saves in the group stage, denying 21 shots over three matches.

Mamardashvili's contract with Valencia runs until the summer of 2027, and Transfermarkt values the goalkeeper at €45 million.
