Gündoğan flew to Manchester and met Guardiola at his personal restaurant ahead of his transfer to City

German midfielder Ilkay Gundogan of Barcelona is set to become a Manchester City player in the near future, according to the Daily Mail.

Reports indicate that the footballer arrived in Manchester on the evening of August 21 and had a meeting with City's manager, Pep Guardiola, at his personal restaurant, Tast Catala. Alongside CEO Ferran Soriano, they discussed the player's return to the team.

It is expected that Gundogan will sign a contract under the «1+1» scheme. Earlier reports suggested that the German would join Manchester City on a free transfer, despite being under contract with Barcelona until June 2026.
