Guardiola: “Müller is one of the greatest players in Bayern’s and football’s history”

Former Bayern Munich manager, now Manchester City’s head coach, Pep Guardiola, has lauded the Munich club’s forward Thomas Müller.

“No other player is like Thomas Müller! He's one of the greatest players in the history of FC Bayern and of football. Not only because of his many titles but also because he's fully focused when his team needs him.

Is Müller an underrated world star? No.Football fans from all over the world know how important he is on the pitch. He's a clever, unpredictable player who always knows where he has to go,” Guardiola was quoted saying by Bayern Munich’s press service.

On Sunday, September 1st, Thomas Müller set a record for the most appearances for Bayern Munich, coming off the bench in their second Bundesliga match of the season against Freiburg (2-0). This game marked the 34-year-old forward’s 710th appearance for the Munich club, in which he also scored a goal.

Thomas Müller has been with Bayern Munich since 2009. In the current season, the forward has netted three goals and provided one assist in three matches.
