Haaland may miss Man City's upcoming match due to family tragedy

Manchester City's forward, Erling Haaland, might miss the upcoming match due to a family tragedy.

According to Marca, Haaland's close friend Ivar Eggja, who was the best man at his father Alf-Inge Haaland's wedding, has passed away. Eggja, who had a close relationship with Erling since his birth, was part of the forward's inner circle, with the 24-year-old Norwegian considering him an uncle. Ivar was present at Haaland's presentation at the English club and the recent Ballon d'Or ceremony.

Manchester City's head coach, Pep Guardiola, has given Haaland permission to miss the upcoming game, though the final decision will be made by the Norwegian himself.

Today, September 14, the Citizens are set to play Brentford at home in the fourth round of the English Premier League (EPL).

This season, Erling Haaland has scored seven goals in four matches for Manchester City. The forward was previously named the Premier League Player of the Month for August.
