"I think we're close to that": Rodri on players striking due to fixture congestion

Manchester City's midfielder, Rodri, has not ruled out the potential of players going on strike due to the dense calendar in the 2024/25 season.

"I think we're close to that. If you ask any player, they will say the same. I believe it's a shared view among players, and if this continues, there will come a point where we have no other choice. Let's see. I don't know what will happen, but it's something that concerns us because we are the ones who suffer," quoted Rodri by BBC.

Previously, Real Madrid's head coach, Carlo Ancelotti, reached out to football officials to consider the option of reducing the number of matches in the season due to the increasing player injuries.
