"In September, trophies are not won." Kompany after 9-2 victory over Dinamo Zagreb

Bayern Munich's head coach Vincent Kompany summed up the 1st round match of the Champions League group stage against Dinamo Zagreb (9:2).

"Fantastic 90 minutes. The team enjoyed the game, as did our fans. It was a truly special evening in the Champions League at our home stadium. I'm delighted for the guys; we continue to gather the energy we need.

It's too early to draw conclusions about our progress. We are moving step by step. Honestly, I like this, but in September, trophies are not won. There is still a lot of work ahead of us, and I hope we will keep evolving. My task is to push the team forward," Kompany was quoted on UEFA's official website.

In the next match, Bayern Munich will face Aston Villa, while Dinamo Zagreb will play against Monaco.
