Inzaghi: "Manchester City is one of the toughest opponents we could have faced"

Inter's head coach, Simone Inzaghi, shared his thoughts on the upcoming match against Manchester City in the first round of the Champions League group stage.

"We are facing a very well-organized team that has not lost at home for many years. We had a day to prepare for the match, and we understand what needs to be done. We are aware that we must perform at the highest level.

The toughest opponents we could have faced are Manchester City, Real Madrid, Liverpool, and Arsenal. And here we start with a match against Manchester City, hoping for a successful outcome.

I do not consider this a revenge for the 2022/23 Champions League final, as it is just a qualifying stage match. I have no regrets because in Istanbul, my team showed their full potential. This is a new competition, and we need to prepare for eight different matches. The tournament will be more intense, but this format will undoubtedly yield results. We are aiming for an excellent performance," quoted Inzaghi by Football Italia.

The match between Manchester City and Inter will take place today, September 18. The game will be held at the Etihad Stadium in Manchester.
