Italian high jumper hospitalized due to kidney issues at the Olympics

Italian high jumper Gianmarco Tamberi has been hospitalized due to kidney issues during the Paris Olympics.

«The pain I’m feeling, no matter how intense, is nothing compared to what is happening inside me. I was just taken to the hospital by ambulance after vomiting blood twice. I will undergo tests and will keep you updated on the results. On this day, I could think of anything but such a nightmare», Tamberi wrote on social media.

The Italian is the reigning Olympic champion in high jump. Despite being admitted to the hospital prior to the start of the 2024 Games with suspected kidney stones, he later qualified for the competition and advanced to the final.
