Leclerc on Azerbaijan GP Performance: "I Thought I Would Crash Into the Wall"

Ferrari driver Charles Leclerc has shared his thoughts on his performance at the Azerbaijan Grand Prix.

"On the medium tyres, we were competitive, but unfortunately, I didn't have long stints on Friday, so we opted for a setup direction that might have made tyre management during the race more difficult. We had issues with the hard tyres towards the end. I thought at one point I would crash into the wall; I was very close to doing so. Oscar and McLaren did an amazing job — it's a well-deserved victory. It's really unfortunate for Carlos. I'm glad both he and Sergio are okay after the crash," Leclerc told Sky Sports.

The Azerbaijan Grand Prix was won by McLaren's Oscar Piastri, with Leclerc finishing in second place. Carlos Sainz (Ferrari) and Sergio Perez (Red Bull) were forced to retire after a collision on the penultimate lap.
