Liverpool's manager on the defeat to Nottingham: "We can only blame ourselves"

Liverpool head coach Arne Slot expresses dissatisfaction with his team's performance in the fourth round of the Premier League against Nottingham Forest, which ended in a 1-0 defeat.

"What frustrates me the most is the result, and the flow of the game was also disappointing. The match was very much a start-stop affair, and we struggled to create goal-scoring opportunities.

We can only blame ourselves; we need to perform better. We lost the ball too often around the penalty area. Our decision-making and execution were not good enough. Defensively, we were solid, but the opposition brought on two quick players who made life difficult for us. We took too many risks, and the opponent scored a very good goal," Slot told the BBC.

The Merseyside club currently sits second in the Premier League table with nine points. In their next fixture, Liverpool will face Bournemouth on September 21.
