Álvarez: "I told Berlanga in the ninth round, "You hit like my son"

Undisputed super middleweight champion Saul Álvarez mocked the punching power of his latest opponent, American Edgar Berlanga.

"What did we talk about in the ring? I told Berlanga in the ninth round, 'You punch as hard as my son.' But Edgar thinks he's stronger than many of my previous opponents," Álvarez said to iFL TV.

Recently, Saul Álvarez defeated Edgar Berlanga by unanimous decision in the main event of a Las Vegas boxing night, successfully defending his WBA, WBC and WBO titles.

The American boxer suffered his first career loss. Prior to this, Berlanga had won all 22 of his professional fights.

Throughout his career, Saul Álvarez has achieved 62 victories (39 by knockout), with two draws and two losses.
