Manchester United close to agreement with PSG for Ugarte transfer

Manchester United is nearing an agreement with Paris Saint-Germain for the transfer of midfielder Manuel Ugarte.

According to insider Fabrizio Romano, the Manchester club has nearly finalised terms with the Parisians for the 23-year-old Uruguayan to join on loan with an obligation to buy. Recent negotiations have proven successful, and the deal is now in its final stages.

It is noted that Manchester United has not made any offers to acquire Atalanta's defensive midfielder Ederson, as they are keen on securing Ugarte's services instead.

Manuel Ugarte joined PSG last summer from Sporting Lisbon for a fee of €60 million. Last season, the midfielder made 37 appearances for the Parisians and registered three assists.

The Uruguayan's contract with the French club runs until the summer of 2028, and Transfermarkt values him at €45 million.
