Maresca on victory over Servette: "For some moments, I really liked our team's performance"

Chelsea head coach Enzo Maresca has commented on his team's victory over Swiss side Servette in the UEFA Conference League qualifying round.

The Londoners secured a 2-0 win against the Geneva club in the first leg of the final qualifying round.

"The message is quite clear: We are in a moment where we are learning how to manage the game. For me, the intention to keep the ball is good. Probably where is not good, in terms of we tried to manage the ball in the last 10 or 15 minutes in our side, where we should try to manage the ball on their side.

I think all of them need more time to know the system better. For sure. Tonight, in terms of physical condition for some of them was not easy.

For some moments, I really liked the team on and off the ball. At the start of the game, the team was very aggressive. Also, because we are in the process, there are some moments we can manage better and we struggled but that is normal," Maresca told Football London.

The return leg between Servette and Chelsea is scheduled for August 29 in Geneva.
