Militão suffers injury during Brazil training

Real Madrid defender Éder Militão has sustained an injury during a training session with the Brazilian national team.

According to the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF), medical examinations have revealed that the 26-year-old player has suffered a muscle injury to his right thigh. As a result, Militão has been withdrawn from the squad for the upcoming World Cup 2026 qualifying matches.

In August 2023, Éder Militão suffered a cruciate ligament rupture in his knee, causing him to miss the majority of the previous season. The Brazilian defender returned to action in March. In the current campaign, Militão has made five appearances for Real Madrid, providing one assist.

For the World Cup 2026 qualifiers, Brazil is set to host Ecuador on 7 September and will face Paraguay away on 11 September.
