Murphy: "The Key When Kane Plays is Making Him the Central Figure"

Former England midfielder Danny Murphy has stated that the national team's play should be built around forward Harry Kane.

"If you're going to build an attack around Kane — and you should because he's our best central striker — the attacking line needs to complement him. To utilize his strengths, he needs players on the flanks and partners playing close to him. We've seen Declan Rice frequently supporting him and even making runs beyond him. We didn't see anything like that at the Euros. The key, when Kane plays, is to make him the focal point. In the match against Ireland, he looked like the England captain we know. He was supported by players making forward runs when he dropped back. If he's fit and ready, you should always pick Kane because he's our best goalscorer, even if it means other stars are left out of the lineup," Murphy told the Daily Mail.

On September 7, England defeated Ireland 2-0 in their Nations League group stage match. Kane did not score in the encounter.
