Napoli secures victory in first official match under Conte

Napoli triumphed over Modena in a penalty shoot-out in the Round of 32 of the Coppa Italia. The match took place at the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium in Naples.

Regulation time ended in a 0-0 draw, and Napoli emerged victorious 4-3 in the ensuing penalty shoot-out. Successful penalty takers for the hosts included Giovanni Di Lorenzo, Cyrille Ngonge, Giovanni Simeone, and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, while Napoli forward Walid Cheddira was unable to convert his attempt. Napoli goalkeeper Alex Meret made crucial saves against Thomas Battistella and Giovanni D'Angelo.

This match against Modena marked Napoli's first official game under the management of Antonio Conte. The 55-year-old coach took charge of the team in June, signing a contract that runs until the summer of 2027.

Last season, the Neapolitans reached the Round of 16 in the Coppa Italia but were defeated by Frosinone with a score of 0-4.
