Navarro Becomes First Semifinalist of the 2024 US Open

American tennis player Emma Navarro, currently ranked 12th in the WTA standings, has become the first semifinalist of the 2024 US Open.

In the quarterfinals of the Grand Slam hardcourt tournament in New York, the American triumphed over the 29th seed Paula Badosa from Spain with a score of 6-2, 7-5.

The opponents spent 1 hour and 14 minutes on the court. Navarro did not serve any aces but successfully converted five out of eight break points and made two unforced errors. Badosa, on the other hand, registered four aces, converted two out of six break points, and committed seven double faults.

In the US Open 2024 semifinals, Emma Navarro will face either Aryna Sabalenka of Belarus or China's Zheng Qinwen.

The US Open will conclude on September 7th, with a prize pool of $75 million.
