Norwegian team doctor shares update on Ødegaard's injury

Norway's team doctor Ola Sand has provided details on the injury sustained by midfielder Martin Ødegaard.

The 25-year-old picked up the injury in the second half of the Nations League Group B3 match against Austria, which ended in a 2-1 victory for Norway. Ødegaard was substituted in the 67th minute.

“Ødegaard has a slight ligament strain in his ankle. We might use an ultrasound to check it out. If we are not certain about the results, we will conduct an MRI tomorrow,” Sand told TV2.

Martin Ødegaard has been with Arsenal since 2021. In the current season, the midfielder has started in all three of the Gunners' Premier League matches, though he has yet to contribute a goal or an assist.

On Sunday, September 15, Mikel Arteta's team will face Tottenham away in the fourth round of the league.
