O'Malley: "I likely won't fight for 9-10 months"

Former UFC bantamweight champion Sean O'Malley has announced that he will take a break from fighting.

Recall that on September 15, O'Malley lost to Georgian Merab Dvalishvili in a title fight at the UFC 306 event.

"I likely won't fight for 9-10 months. Maybe even a year. I need time," stated O'Malley on his YouTube channel.

Sean O'Malley became the UFC bantamweight champion in August 2023 by knocking out Aljamain Sterling. In March, the American successfully defended his title by defeating Ecuadorian Marlon Vera by unanimous decision. O'Malley has suffered his second career loss, with the fighter from the USA winning 18 fights and ending one bout in a draw.
