O'Malley on Dvalishvili incident with fan: «You can sue Merab for assault»

UFC bantamweight champion Sean O'Malley has commented on the incident involving Georgian fighter Merab Dvalishvili, who allegedly attacked a fan.

A video surfaced on social media showing Dvalishvili jumping into the stands during the Craig Jones Invitational grappling tournament in Las Vegas and grabbing a spectator by the hair. Security swiftly intervened, escorting the Georgian away from the frightened fan.

“One of the fans, who ever this fan is I need to get your information because it’s funny, said «Sean is your daddy», or something like that, I don’t know how true that is. Merab looks up, just can’t handle it. Merab just lost it. That is stoicism at its finest.

He can be sued for assaulting a civilian. You’re not allowed to assault somebody. You can’t just put your hands on somebody. Attention all ‘Suga’ Sean O’Malley fans: will you guys please, from the bottom of my heart, quit making fun of Merab. He can’t handle it. He’s very insecure," O'Malley said, as reported by MMA Mania.

Merab Dvalishvili and Sean O'Malley are scheduled to face off for the bantamweight title at UFC 306 in Las Vegas on September 14.

Dvalishvili has a record of 17 wins and four losses in mixed martial arts, while O'Malley has won 18 bouts and lost just once in his MMA career.
