PFL Chief: "Mokaev can definitely become the face of the flyweight division in our league"

PFL CEO Peter Murray spoke about the potential invitation of unbeaten British-Dagestani fighter Muhammad Mokaev to the league.

«I believe that the flyweight division is something our league will acquire in the near future. I know our team is considering this option. Just look at Muhammad Mokaev, a fighter from Dagestan with a record of 13-0. This guy has the second-longest winning streak in the UFC flyweight division. He also boasts a 23-0 amateur record. When you look at fighters like Mokaev, you see an opportunity.

I am absolutely confident that Muhammad Mokaev can indeed become the future face of the PFL flyweight division, because this guy is impressive», Murray stated in an interview with BJ Penn.

At the end of July, the UFC chose not to extend Mokaev's contract, despite the fighter's seven consecutive victories.

It is worth noting that the PFL currently does not feature a flyweight category in which Mokaev competes.
