Sainz Explains Decision to Continue Career with Williams

Spanish driver Carlos Sainz Jr., currently with Ferrari, has explained his decision to join Williams starting from the 2025 season.

"First and foremost, I wanted to make my decision before the summer break. After spending a challenging seven months without a Ferrari contract, I was under immense pressure to deliver high results for Scuderia while also arranging my future. Balancing both was not easy, so I aimed to make a confident decision during the break. I have always respected Williams, and our discussions have been productive. They are committed to Formula 1, with serious plans and strong leadership. They aspire to return this historic team to the forefront. That is what motivates me. It motivated me when I moved to McLaren, then to Ferrari, and it now motivates me to join Williams. These will be interesting years in my career," Sainz stated at a press conference in Zandvoort.

On July 29, it was announced that the Spaniard will be racing for Williams from the next season.
