Sergi Roberto to continue career in Serie A

Former Barcelona midfielder and captain, Sergi Roberto, is set to continue his career in Serie A.

According to insider Fabrizio Romano, the 32-year-old midfielder will join Como as a free agent. The Spaniard is expected to sign a two-year contract with the Italian club, which includes an option for an additional season. Como is also close to completing deals for Manchester City defensive midfielder Maximo Perrone and Real Madrid midfielder Nico Paz.

It's worth noting that Como's head coach is former Barcelona and Spain teammate Cesc Fabregas.

Sergi Roberto left Barcelona on August 11, following the expiration of his contract after 18 years within the club's system. The midfielder made 373 appearances for the Catalans, scoring 19 goals and providing 43 assists.

During his time with the Blaugrana, Roberto won seven La Liga titles, the UEFA Super Cup, a FIFA Club World Cup, and two UEFA Champions League trophies, along with six Copa del Rey titles and five Spanish Super Cups.

Transfermarkt values the Spaniard at €2.5 million.
