Sinner Speaks on Victory Over Zverev in Cincinnati Tournament

Italian tennis player and world number one, Jannik Sinner, has shared his thoughts on his victory over Germany's Alexander Zverev in the semi-final match of the Cincinnati tournament in the USA.

"This means a lot to me. It's a completely different phase that I'm going through, so I'm very happy with this result. The physical aspect is something I certainly need to improve because if I want to win Grand Slam tournaments, I have to be in the best shape. But I just tried to hold on mentally, which I'm very proud of. Let's see what tomorrow holds. It was a tough but exciting match. The atmosphere was incredible throughout the entire game. We started with sunshine, then it rained, and it turned into a night session, creating extra tension for both of us. I'm very satisfied with myself and, obviously, immensely happy to be in the final," Sinner told the official ATP website.

The Italian triumphed over his German counterpart with a score of 7-6, 5-7, 7-6, securing his spot in the final where he will face Frances Tiafoe on August 20.
