Stuttgart's coach believes Courtois played a key role in the match against Real Madrid

Sebastian Hoeness, the head coach of Stuttgart, commended his team's display in the 1st round match of the Champions League group stage against Real Madrid (1:3).

"We aimed to play boldly, showcase our courage, and adhere to our style, as is customary in Germany. Certainly, the outcome disappointed us, but we can be proud of what we demonstrated on the field. The opponent scored at a moment when we truly felt in control of the game. We confidently held possession, but then Real Madrid capitalized on their chance. The game was intriguing, with numerous opportunities for both teams.

Courtois is undoubtedly one of the world's best goalkeepers, and he once again confirmed that. In football, victories and defeats are determined by goals. Real Madrid possesses excellent quality both in defense and attack. We also had our moments, but Courtois played a key role," UEFA's official website quoted Hoeness.

In the next Champions League match, Real Madrid will play away against Lille, while Stuttgart will host Sparta.
