UFC President announces McGregor will not fight in 2024

UFC President Dana White has confirmed that former two-weight champion Conor McGregor will not step into the octagon this year.

«When will McGregor return to the octagon? We talked and he wants to fight. We'll figure it out. Not this year. He won't fight this year», — White stated, as reported by ESPN.

McGregor was scheduled to face Michael Chandler at UFC 303 on June 30; however, the bout has been postponed due to an injury suffered by the Irishman. Chandler previously stated that the fight would not take place.

The last time McGregor competed in the octagon was in July 2021, when he lost by technical knockout to American fighter Dustin Poirier at UFC 264. Throughout his MMA career, the Irish fighter has achieved 22 victories and endured six defeats.
