US Athlete Sets World Record to Win 400m Hurdles at Olympics

American Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone clinched Olympic gold in the 400 meters hurdles in Paris with a world record.

The US representative completed the race in 50.37 seconds, surpassing her own previous record of 50.65 seconds set in late June. The 25-year-old McLaughlin-Levrone has now become a three-time Olympic champion.

Fellow American Anna Cockrell secured second place with a time of 51.87 seconds, while Dutch athlete Femke Bol finished third in 52.15 seconds.

The Paris Olympics will conclude on August 11.
