Verstappen: "My Next Team Change Will Be the Last of My Career"

Dutch Red Bull driver Max Verstappen has discussed his future in Formula 1.

"People talk and think about it much more often than I do. I take it all calmly—I focus on driving and try to sort out current issues. Then I go back home and live my life. I'm completely at ease regarding my future. For me, it's very simple—I enjoy what I'm doing, and as long as I continue to enjoy it, I'll stay here and keep competing in Formula 1. If I ever want to go somewhere else, then I will. But right now, I don't have such thoughts.

Of course, everyone wants to win. Everyone in the paddock is striving for victory, and over time, people change teams, moving back and forth. But personally, I don't want my career to develop like that; I don't want to drive for four or five teams over my career. No, I want to build long-lasting, stable, good relationships with everyone on the team and feel at home there. Frequent team changes are not for me. My next team change, if it happens at all, will be the last of my career. That said, my next step could very well be extending my contract with my current team," Verstappen told f1i.com.

In the F1 standings, the Dutchman leads with 331 points after 18 rounds. His contract with Red Bull runs until the end of 2028.
