World Number One Sinner: "I Have Low Expectations for the US Open"

Italian tennis player and world number one Jannik Sinner has tempered expectations ahead of the 2024 US Open.

"Honestly, my expectations for the US Open are quite low. It will take time to regain a good rhythm, and my body is still not in the best shape. Any win would be a positive result; I need to recover gradually," Sinner told ESPN.

Despite Sinner's reservations, the Opta supercomputer considers him the main favourite for the US Open.

The 2024 US Open began on August 26 and will conclude on September 8. The reigning champion is Serbia's Novak Djokovic, who defeated Russia's Daniil Medvedev in last year's final (6-3, 7-6, 6-3).
