Former two-division UFC champion Daniel Cormier has highlighted what the light heavyweight title holder, Brazil's Alex Pereira, must do to be regarded as the greatest fighter in the promotion's history.

«Pereira isn't quite the greatest yet. However, if he competes for the heavyweight title or successfully defends his title in the light heavyweight division, there would be no doubt. After all, he has already been a champion in the middleweight division, then in light heavyweight... And he has defended the light heavyweight title. I think this guy is special. He can currently do whatever he wants because he has a good relationship with the organization.

If he approached the management and expressed, 'I want to fight Aspinall for the interim heavyweight title,' I believe he'd have that opportunity, especially after his performance last weekend. But for now, he needs to face Ankalaev, provided Ankalaev gets past Rakic,» Cormier stated on Good Guy/Bad Guy.

Pereira boasts a record of 12 wins and two losses in MMA. At UFC 307, the Brazilian successfully defended his championship belt with a decisive victory over American Khalil Rountree.
