"One of the Toughest Fights of My Career": Pereira on Bout with Rountree
Brazilian fighter Alex Pereira reflected on his victory over American Khalil Rountree in their title fight at UFC 307.
"This was one of the toughest fights of my career. I anticipated it would be exactly like this. I believe Khalil has proven to everyone that he is truly a formidable fighter.
Everyone already knows that Dricus [Du Plessis] will be fighting Sean Strickland. I wouldn't want to stand in Sean's way. Therefore, I'm considering moving up to the heavyweight division, but at the same time, the light heavyweight is a lot of fun right now," Pereira stated after the fight.
Pereira secured his victory by knocking out Rountree in the fourth round, marking his third successful defense of the UFC light heavyweight title this year.
Pereira now holds a record of 12 wins and two losses in MMA, while Rountree has 12 wins and six losses in mixed martial arts.
