UFC champ Muhammad mocked Topuria for wanting to fight Makhachev
Reigning UFC welterweight champion Belal Muhammad has spoken out about Spanish-Georgian fighter Elijah Topuria's desire to fight Russian Islam Makhachev.
«Topuria fights next week, he should be less distracted by everything else. A fight with Makhachev? That's a dumb thing to do! That's the kind of thing you have to earn.
Topuria's got Max Holloway to deal with. Then he's got Alex Volkanovski. After that, it's undefeated Movsar Yevloyev, who looks better every fight. There are a lot of guys waiting for Topuria that he hasn't fought yet. I think Topuria won't even get past Max. And then Elijah will have to shut up», Submission Radio quoted Muhammad as saying.
Topuria will make the first defense of his featherweight title against American Max Holloway on Oct. 26 at UFC 308.
