Simon Dalton presents his prediction for the Serie A match.
AS Roma, in excellent form, are gradually closing in on the European competition spots, especially as their rivals continue to drop points. They must be wary of underestimating Genoa, who have been buoyed by a managerial change.
AS Roma
Over the last five Serie A rounds, AS Roma have scored 10 goals, with only Napoli (11) and Inter Milan (15) netting more. On Sunday, the Rome side put on a solid performance against Bologna (2:2) away, generating 1.59 xG. It's worth noting that at home, they have secured three consecutive victories, scoring a total of 11 goals, with Parma suffering the most in a 5:0 thrashing and conceding 5.28 xGA.
Genoa
Even before Alberto Gilardino's dismissal, Genoa were finding decent form and have now moved closer to the top 10 in the league. However, squad depth remains an issue for the team, with six players sidelined due to injuries. Additionally, the Genoa side have managed only seven goals in nine away games, marking them as the league's joint-weakest attack, alongside Venezia.
AS Roma vs Genoa Prediction
Roma's advantage lies in a largely full squad, with only Bryan Cristante absent, and he had already lost his starting position. In September, Roma let victory slip against Genoa in Genoa (1:1), but the support at the Stadio Olimpico will provide a conducive atmosphere for claiming all three points.
