Despite Hearts sitting higher (17th) than Copenhagen (19th) in the overall Europa Conference League standings, they are considered underdogs for the upcoming match. What's the reason for this?
Copenhagen
The key lies in domestic matters. Copenhagen have things well in hand. The club leads the Danish Superliga, even though their perennial rivals, Midtjylland, have the same number of points (33). Including their Conference League win over Dinamo Minsk (2:1) and their Danish Cup triumph against Kolding (3:1), Copenhagen's winning streak extends to four matches. They haven't lost since the beginning of October.
Hearts
Hearts, on the other hand, are struggling to find their rhythm. Even with four points from their last two Scottish Premiership matches, they are 11th, second to last. Their Europa Conference League performance has also faltered. Following two opening victories that placed them in the top eight, they suffered two goalless losses to Heidenheim (0:2) and Cercle Brugge (0:2). Only their recent home win against Dundee (2:0) offers some hope to Hearts fans after four defeats and a draw.
