Amedspor travel to Istanbul with 25 goals after ten rounds — two more than Galatasaray. They are also just two points behind the leaders. The gap in quality remains, but the visitors have already proved they can compete with strong opponents. This is far from a routine fixture for the hosts.
Galatasaray
Galatasaray have won their last four league matches. They beat Fenerbahce (2:1) before thrashing Konyaspor (4:0). But they do not always win comfortably at home: they have done so just twice in eight league matches. The other games have produced a draw, a defeat and wins by a single goal. The hosts enjoy plenty of possession and make extensive use of the flanks, but opponents regularly keep the score close. Galatasaray also played Stuttgart in the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday (2:0), while centre-back Abdülkerim Bardakcı is suspended.
Amedspor
Amedspor have hit form just in time for their trip to Istanbul. Their last five league matches have brought four wins and a draw, including an away victory over Samsunspor (2:1). They have scored twice in three of their four away matches. The gap in expected goals this season is also small: Galatasaray average 2.30 xG per match compared with Amedspor's 2.15. However, creating chances away from home is harder, and this is a serious test for the visitors. The absence of Samuel Ballet will not help either: he scored a hat-trick in the win over Eyüpspor (5:1) but was sent off late on.
Galatasaray vs Amedspor Prediction
The hosts will try to take control of possession from the start and pin their opponents back around their penalty area. The visitors will have to defend for long spells, cover the flanks and look for chances after winning the ball back. But Amedspor have already shown they can get results away from home: they have avoided defeat in three of their four away matches. Galatasaray could win thanks to their stronger attack, but even at home they have rarely established a two-goal advantage so far. Given the visitors' form and the hosts' busy schedule, we are backing Amedspor with a +1.5-goal handicap.
