Simon Dalton presents his prediction for the Australian Open match.
Novak Djokovic continues to affirm his status as the king of Melbourne, where he has triumphed 10 times. His victory over Carlos Alcaraz (world No. 3) was a significant event, highlighting the Serb's readiness to potentially claim his 25th Grand Slam title. Meanwhile, Alexander Zverev is eyeing his first-ever final appearance at the Australian Open.
Novak Djokovic
Djokovic has set yet another record, reaching his 50th Grand Slam semi-final. At the Australian Open, he has won 10 out of 11 semi-final matches. Currently, he's in excellent form, winning 76% of points on his first serve, and his unforced errors rarely exceed 15 per match. However, in his last 11 matches in Melbourne, he's played at least four sets in seven instances. The Serbian, even at his age, managed to turn around the match against Carlos Alcaraz (4:6, 6:4, 6:3, 6:4) by winning in four sets.
Alexander Zverev
The German exhibits a high level of play once again after recovering from a serious injury, becoming the third German to reach the Australian Open semi-finals. However, in the quarter-final against Tommy Paul, he spent over 3.5 hours on court and won only 66% of his service points, which typically doesn't fall below 73%. He only prevailed in four sets, with the first two sets going to tie-breaks. In the Round of 16, he also failed to secure a straight-sets victory, overcoming Ugo Humbert (world No. 14) in four sets as well.
Novak Djokovic vs Alexander Zverev Prediction
Djokovic is the favourite, given his experience, physical condition, and ability to adapt to opponents' strengths. Nevertheless, Zverev will put up a fight, particularly with his powerful serve and two-handed backhand. The German rarely goes down without a fight, and this match will be no exception.
