Simon Dalton presents his prediction for the Europa League match.
Ajax finished the Europa League group stage while they were not leading the Eredivisie, but they have since secured a strong position in their domestic standings. Meanwhile, over the past 10 days, Eintracht Frankfurt have demonstrated the limits of their current level.
Ajax
Ajax’s league wins have been marked by narrow margins, with their winning differences rarely exceeding two goals. They have maintained a solid defence, conceding only two goals in seven matches since the start of the year. Their winning streak now extends to nine matches, dating from December 15th, 2024. In the Europa League knockout round, Ajax advanced past Union Saint-Gilloise after the second leg went into extra time; they scored two goals and received a red card for Davy Klaassen in the 25th minute, while a penalty from Kenneth Taylor ultimately secured the result.
Eintracht Frankfurt
Eintracht Frankfurt have held third place in the Bundesliga since Matchday 14, although two recent defeats have put that position at risk. They suffered a 0:4 defeat away to Bayern Munich and a 1:4 home loss to Bayer Leverkusen. Bayern Munich controlled the match in the second half, while Bayer Leverkusen established their result within seven minutes in the first half, with Eintracht Frankfurt’s only goal coming as a result of a defensive error.
Ajax vs Eintracht Frankfurt Prediction
Although Eintracht Frankfurt performed more productively than Ajax in the group stage and avoided play-off matches, the current form of the teams favours the hosts. In our view, a Draw No Bet is the best bet.
