Adam Williams presents his prediction for the German Masters Qualifiers match.
Jonas Luz
In the match between Alexander Ursenbacher and Jonas Luz, we begin with the Brazilian. Jonas Luz joined the tour only this season through the Pan American Snooker Championship. The level of snooker in Brazil is very low, so all the Brazilians who have joined the tour have played poorly and were soon eliminated. This was the case with Igor Figueiredo and Itaro Santos. Igor Figueiredo's best performance was reaching the last round of qualifying for the Crucible, but he lost to Mark Joyce (10-7). Jonas Luz won his first match against Mostafa Dorgham (4-1) this season, but subsequently lost all five other matches by a total score of 20-4. Across these matches, Jonas made only one significant break of 80 points, and with this level of play, there is little hope for a good result. I did not see confidence in Jonas's game, and given the short format of the matches, it will be very difficult for him.
Alexander Ursenbacher
Alexander Ursenbacher was in excellent form not long ago, ranked 41st, but he is now ranked 87th. This season, Alexander has won six out of 15 matches. It must be noted that Ursenbacher often faced strong players in the first round of tournaments, including John Higgins, Gary Wilson, Barry Hawkins, and Jak Jones. The Swiss also lost to Thepchaiya Un-Nooh, Andrew Padgett, Jimmy Robertson, and Alfie Burden, but these players have a wealth of experience and have not lost their skills. Ursenbacher needs a miracle to stay on tour after this season, as things are quite dire.
Alexander Ursenbacher vs Jonas Luz Prediction
We believe Ursenbacher will do everything possible to secure a quick and confident win against Luz. Ursenbacher is a very talented player who lacks consistency, and Jonas Luz is a very favourable draw for the Swiss player.
