Simon Dalton presents his prediction for the NBA pre-season match.
The Oklahoma City Thunder make their home debut in the pre-season cycle. On Tuesday night, the Thunder overcame the San Antonio Spurs (112:107), and now the Houston Rockets, who fell to the Utah Jazz (113:122) earlier this week, come to town.
Oklahoma City Thunder
The depth of the Thunder's roster was on full display against the San Antonio Spurs. A total of 14 players saw action, with 11 of them making at least two field goals. Four players, including Chet Holmgren, scored 10+ points. The 22-year-old centre impressively scored in double figures in just nine minutes, hitting all five of his shots.
Houston Rockets
For the Rockets, it's apparent that the starting five entered the first exhibition game in varying conditions. While Jalen Green appeared in top form (21 points in 20 minutes), Fred VanVleet, for example, missed all four of his field-goal attempts and managed just two successful free throws.
Oklahoma City Thunder vs Houston Rockets Prediction
The Rockets' reserves lost the second half to the Jazz by 22 points. Against the Thunder, that margin could be even greater. We favour the Thunder with a handicap.
