Simon Dalton presents his prediction for the Serie A match.
Despite their positions in the relegation zone, both Venezia and Como have shown commendable performances in the current campaign following their promotion. If Como secure a victory against the league's bottom side, they could climb up four spots — their offence is proving much more effective at converting chances.
Venezia
Venezia's poor run in November, with four consecutive defeats, has kept them rooted at the bottom of the table. The Serie A newcomers have scored 11 goals (ranking 19th in the league) and conceded 25 — only surpassed by Como (26) and Verona (33). The main issue for Venezia is their finishing — they are seven goals short of their expected 18.07 xG tally.
Como 1907
Como's home draw against Monza (1:1) showed their positive attitude, as they continued to press the opposition's goal even in the dying moments, amassing 1.23 expected goals. Key defender Alberto Dossena returns after suspension, and only Sergi Roberto remains sidelined among their main players. Cesc Fàbregas sees promise in the attacking partnership of Patrick Cutrone and Nico Paz (5+3 collectively), with Andrea Belotti and Simone Verdi bolstering their efforts from the bench.
Venezia vs Como 1907 Prediction
The March meeting between Venezia and Como ended in favour of the latter (2:1). They currently appear to have the upper hand as well — Como regularly compete with both top and mid-table sides, and they certainly won’t lose to the bottom club.
