Derrick Rose, who played for the Memphis Grizzlies in the 2023/24 season, has announced his retirement from professional basketball.

«The next chapter of my life is about following my dreams and sharing my experiences. I believe true success comes when you become who you were meant to be. I want to show the world who I am beyond basketball. Everyone has a 'what if?' story in life. Even if I could, I wouldn’t change anything about my journey. This path has brought me true joy,» Rose told The Athletic.

The 35-year-old Rose is a World Champion from the 2010 and 2014 FIBA World Cup.

In the 2010/11 NBA season, at the age of 22, Rose was named the Most Valuable Player of the regular season, making him the youngest ever recipient of the award.
