Simon Dalton presents his prediction for the 2024 World Snooker Championship match.
John Higgins
Higgins has always participated in the tournament. He tries to participate in every tournament he can, reaching late stages quite often. Higgins keeps himself in good form. His place in the season rating speaks for itself. Higgins is a tough opponent.
Jamie Jones
Jones easily beat Alfie Burden in the first qualifying game (10:5). The following game against Neil Robertson was way more difficult (10:9). Jamie Jones isn’t an example of the best snooker player. He’s 36 years old. He’s never reached a final in the important tournaments. He realises that this is his chance to prove himself. Everything depends on him.
John Higgins – Jamie Jones prediction
John Higgins occupies the 4th place in the season rating in the number of century breaks. Last year, Higgins beat David Grace in the first game of the tournament (10:3), but it was an easy opponent. The games that last long are a problem for Higgins as his focus and eyesight fail him, many steps he makes around the table are difficult for him and younger players use this advantage. I believe that Jamie Jones will be able to win at least 6 frames.
