Simon Dalton presents his prediction for the NHL regular season match.
The Vegas Golden Knights started the season with two wins but then unexpectedly suffered three consecutive defeats. They now face the Los Angeles Kings, who are in the midst of a seven-game road trip.
Vegas Golden Knights
The hosts' strongest asset is their offence. The line of Ivan Barbashev, Jack Eichel, and Mark Stone has already combined for 16 points. In four of their five games, the team have scored at least three goals. Currently, the players are clearly dissatisfied after a short road trip where they failed to earn any points, so they will take to the ice against the Kings with extra determination to redeem themselves in the eyes of their fans.
Los Angeles Kings
The Kings position themselves as a team that plays defensively and can catch opponents on the counterattack, but this approach has only been successful against clear underdogs. The Toronto Maple Leafs and the Ottawa Senators have breached the Kings' goalkeepers 14 times. At the moment, the players are not in the best psychological state, as their road trip numbers six matches and will conclude with this clash. There is a possibility that they are only thinking about their imminent return home.
Vegas Golden Knights vs Los Angeles Kings Prediction
The teams recently faced each other during a preseason tournament, although it was with rosters from the AHL. Now, the Knights are the clear favourites. The team are much fresher, and their offence will make the difference in this matchup.
