Simon Dalton presents his prediction for the Argentine Primera División match.
Over the last five rounds, Belgrano and Instituto have managed only one win between them—a string of mediocre results that leaves both teams in the middle of the table. To climb out of this position, a solid defensive performance is needed.
Belgrano
Since late September, only one of Belgrano's six games has seen a total over 2.5. Last week, they couldn't hold onto their lead away to Banfield (1:1), managing just two shots on target over 90 minutes. It's clear that the coaching staff are struggling without their injured players—four key figures remain sidelined. At home, Belgrano have suffered two consecutive defeats since the beginning of October, scoring just one goal in those matches.
Instituto
Instituto are two points ahead of their nearest rivals, yet have not won in four rounds (one draw and three losses). Away, they have scored 11 goals—only five teams in the top 15 have a worse attack. Against River Plate (2:3) last Thursday, Instituto had only 34% possession, delivering seven shots compared to their top-tier opponent's 20.
Belgrano vs Instituto Prediction
Since August 2022, Belgrano and Instituto have each secured a narrow victory in their two meetings (1:0 and 0:1). It seems the upcoming match between these mid-table sides will again lack in scoring chances.
