Simon Dalton presents his prediction for the FA Cup match.
Liverpool has had a stroke of luck compared to Arsenal, that were drawn with Manchester United. At least the leaders can get some rest. It’s unlikely that Arne Slot will risk their fitness before an important league match against the disruptor Nottingham Forest on Tuesday.
Liverpool
Most of the Reds are healthy. Only Joe Gomez is confirmed to miss the match, while the availability of Dominik Szoboszlai and Jarell Quansah is uncertain. Will the Dutchman take any risks with them? More likely, we will see many young players featured. After all, their opponents are not even a Championship club that could potentially pose a challenge, but the 19th place team in League Two.
Accrington Stanley
Accrington's situation has been even worse. With only two recent victories against Grimsby Town (3:2) and Colchester United (2:0), they have managed to pull away from the very bottom (22nd place) to a safer distance of four positions and five points. The Lancashire club reached Anfield thanks to a victory over the current bottom team from the sixth non-professional league (Rushall Olympic — 2:0) and another struggling League Two team Swindon Town (2:2, won 4:1 on penalties).
Liverpool vs Accrington Stanley Prediction
Even Liverpool's effectively second-string side should have no trouble dealing with a club that is just a few steps away from losing its professional status. They may not necessarily thrash them decisively, but the margin will certainly be at least three goals.
