Last week, they defeated the second seed in the conference, the Memphis Grizzlies (116:110), and twice conquered the Sacramento Kings on the road—113:110 and 103:99. It's evident that the Lakers heavily rely on their two main stars, and as long as they perform well, the team thrives. Against the Grizzlies, Anthony Davis equalled his scoring record with 40 points, while LeBron James scored 32 points with four steals in the latest clash against the Kings.
Detroit Pistons
Despite occasional spurts, the Detroit Pistons are still far from achieving a 50% win rate (12-17), particularly in the East, which is notably weaker than the West this season. The Pistons win when Cade Cunningham delivers exceptional performances, but this does not happen as frequently as their fans would hope. Adjusting for strength of schedule, the Pistons rank 20th in the league, having played just five of their 29 games against Western Conference teams.
