Simon Dalton presents his prediction for the Europa League match.
As they await the November break and the arrival of Ruben Amorim, Manchester United continue their preparations under Ruud van Nistelrooy. So far, it seems to be working out. It'll be interesting to see how they fare against the Greek champions in this encounter.
Manchester United
Manchester United secured a 1:1 draw at Old Trafford in a crucial match against Chelsea. The goal for the hosts came from Bruno Fernandes, who converted a penalty. However, his presence was missed in Istanbul, where Manchester United also drew against Fenerbahçe (1:1) in the previous Europa League round. Filling in as the number ten was Noussair Mazraoui, who is typically a full-back. This was still under Erik ten Hag, who couldn’t find a better solution. Manchester United have drawn all their opening Europa League matches, yet they remain in the playoff zone, currently 21st.
PAOK
PAOK are only 30th with one draw, shared with Viktoria Plzeň (2:2). This autumn hasn't been too kind to the Greeks. They have managed just 5 wins in 12 matches, two of which were against Super League strugglers Lamia (2:1) and in the Greek Cup against Super League 2 side Egaleo (3:0). Both victories were away but offered little consolation when PAOK couldn't win against teams ranked higher than ninth in the Greek championship.
Manchester United vs PAOK Prediction
Manchester United have also faced their share of problems in recent months, but now they are on a path of renewal, making a club like PAOK unlikely to pose significant challenges. Manchester United are set to secure their first Europa League victory.
