Simon Dalton presents his prediction for the Championship match.
Queens Park Rangers have managed to score against every opponent they have faced so far. Even Crystal Palace couldn't escape conceding in their recent League Cup match. It will be tough for Millwall to avoid the same fate.
Queens Park Rangers
Even against a Premier League side, the team performed admirably, although Martí Cifuentes might be disappointed that Queens Park Rangers scored twice with just 0.60 xG. His players managed only one goal with 0.40 xG. There were few chances overall with just 14 shots on target (6-8). In the Championship, Queens Park Rangers' unbeaten run has extended to four matches. In their latest away game against Sheffield Wednesday, they secured another draw. They scored one goal from four shots on target, showcasing good accuracy.
Millwall
Millwall, on the other hand, have failed to score in their last three matches against Hull City, Sheffield Wednesday, and Luton Town. It's surprising considering they rank fourth to fifth in the league for shots (14.6) and seventh to ninth for goals (8). However, poor finishing has let them down: they have accumulated 10.79 xG, but the quality of their attack has prevented them from converting those chances into goals. Additionally, they concede more than expected — with an xGA of 5.52 but 8 goals conceded — highlighting defensive lapses. Poor finishing in attack and errors in defence have been their undoing.
Queens Park Rangers vs Millwall Prediction
Queens Park Rangers should be able to score at least once against such a defence. While Millwall takes many shots and could also find the net, their recent goalless matches don't inspire confidence for both teams to score bet, especially since it hasn't come through in five of their seven matches so far this season. We will supplement our prediction with a positive result for the hosts.
