Simon Dalton presents his prediction for the Serie A match.
Juventus currently lead the race for fourth place, though only on goal difference. They sit on 63 points, level with both AS Roma and Lazio. A head-to-head clash with one of their direct rivals could significantly alter the balance of power in the standings.
Lazio
Following their elimination from the Europa League, Lazio have collected seven points from their last three matches. They comfortably dispatched relegation candidates Empoli (1:0) and Genoa (2:0), but dropped points against another bottom-of-the-standings side, Parma (2:2). Boulaye Dia, the team’s attacking leader, has found notable form, scoring twice during this run. However, Lazio face a major setback with the suspension of key defender Elseid Hysaj, who received a red card in their most recent outing.
Juventus
Juventus have been highly inconsistent. Their tactical structure has been lacking, and results have often hinged on individual brilliance. Fortunately for the squad, there is no shortage of talent. In addition to Kolo Muani, Nico González and Khéphren Thuram, the returns of Teun Koopmeiners and Dušan Vlahović will significantly boost their attacking capabilities. That said, defensive issues remain a concern: the team have conceded in five of their six matches under the new manager, with Monza, who sit bottom of the standings, the only side failing to score against them.
Lazio vs Juventus Prediction
Juventus won the reverse fixture 1:0, although Lazio were reduced to ten men as early as the 24th minute. A similar scenario seems unlikely this time, and a lively contest can be expected. Given the current form of both sides, backing both teams to score appears the most reasonable option.
